I don’t know about you, but it’s become a bit of a cult activity each year in the Candy household, where we try and guess the new Vaseline flavour (we need to get out more). The newest flavour (launched on September the 5th) was Paint the Town (red), a red tinted balm with a slightly fruity smell.
To celebrate the launch of Vaseline’s latest Limited Edition Flavour release ‘Paint the Town Red’, their team organised a competition for bloggers, with a chance to win a Lulu Guiness ‘lips’ bag ( one to give away to readers!).
I was sent a box with a tinted balm in, some red accessories (such as a Rimmel red polish), sweeties and a voucher for Topshop to get accessories for this challenge. The idea was to create a red look using accessories and of course this balm!
I wasn’t really sure what to do – I don’t wear red very often and like it in small doses! Make up wise, I decided to wear a matte red lip with the Paint the Town balm on top to add moisture and shine.
In the end I accessorised with a red headband – knitted – which is the perfect way to add a hint of red whilst keeping warm too. I wore a black best and a deep red pencil skirt from my work days, and some deep red heels. Hopefully it didn’t look too obviously red themed!?
Sorry about the pained experience – it was late!
I wore my usual foundation, and barely anything on my eyes apart from some black liner. The red lips were the feature (Missha Everlasting Lip Colour in red) and as my matte colour was so drying, the Vaseline balm was applied liberally on top to keep things soft!
Overall look – maybe something you can wear for a dinner out? Maybe with a cardigan though…it’s sort of chilly!
