It takes a lot to get me excited about new make up these days, honestly I am numb to the same old same old same old thing being released. But then I saw these releases from Skinfood (one of the first Korean brands I use to buy frequently but don’t really bother with these days).
The Vita Color Fruits Roll Stick is a dual colours lipstick/balm which is in line with the Korean trend of wearing two shades or just graduating a bright lip colour from the centre of the lip. This is very very very common, not a novelty thing like it is in the West and it’s actually a really pretty easy way of wearing a bright shade on the lips.
Anyway – I chose two wearable shades 01 which is the browny colour an 04 which is purpley.
So what is it about this product that made me buy?
Well I love the easy balm like quality of it – I barely have time to put a full face of make up on and sometimes lipstick is something I quickly smoosh on as I walk out the door so something this easy is good.
The lipstick or lip balm if you like, has the qualities of both. It is hydrating and soft but also pigmented and creamy. It has a fruity scent and leaves a soft shine. I really like it!
Now I got these mixed around (it’s 04 and 01):
04 is a soft medium pink with a purple core.
01 is a nude brown with a pinkish core.
These dual colour lip products are common on the Korean market – makes it easier I guess but sometime the graduation is too obvious or too subtle or just plain weird.
I am happy to report that this graduation is the prefect mix of slightly noticeable to look interesting but not weird. It also seems to swipe the right area and blend well (in my opinion). I actually really have enjoyed using these and as a bonus they have been keeping my lips hydrated.
They leave a slightly stain on the lips but the initial glow and shine is not so long lasting, maybe an hour or so because it feels dry so I would put it in the balm category in that if you want the softness and shine you need to reapply. To be honest – who the hell goes for an hour without eating and drinking anyway!?!?!?!
Here they are!
Highly recommended if you like pigment in a balm like texture and also like the two toned look!
I bought mine they came to around £7 each.
