I was recently sent an eyeshadow product from , a Korean cosmetics store to try – an Skinfood Eyeshadow palette from the ‘Mineral Sugar’ range.
I haven’t used Skinfood in so long but it was the first ever Korean brand I tried – it’s quite a nostalgic brand for me but I don’t really use that many things by them any more.
So the Mineral Sugar Blend Eyes come in 4 colour combos. I have to say, Korean eyeshots aren’t necessarily the most pigmented (aside from Innisfree – I really like my innisfree pressed shadows and they do cream eyeshadows and glitters really really well).
The combination I like the look of the most is Gold Mango Roll – which by the way looks more vibrant online than it does in real life.
The colours go from:
Orange, Matte Beige, Gold, Mid-dirty gold, cool yellow brown an matte cool brown. They are not placed in a logical order but it’s fine – you sort of have a good mix of textures an shades. Good for a beginner at least.
Whilst these colours swatch well and are quite pigmented, I am a little disappointed with how well they wear on the eyes. The pigmentation doesn’t necessarily translate on to the eyes but it does look better with a primer. I think that they could do with being more pigmented BUT, for a beginner they would be excellent and quite a safe choice. I know that my aunts who only wear a biota natural make up would love these, for example.
Overall, this is a pretty palette and it’s good for people who want something natural that is quite foolproof. I wouldn’t go out of my way to order another one of these palettes however, although I think Skinfood still have quite a strong lip colour range.
Do you use anything from Skinfood?
