There was a time you know, not that long ago, when it was quite hard to find an under eye illuminating concealer type thing that was any where near as good as Touche Eclat – but of course these days, everyone does an illuminating pen and many have superseeded good old Touch Eclat (although I always seem to have one in my make up bag).
The thing about these pen concealers is you get very little product but they are expensive! But they are so handy.
Boots’ SEVENTEEN brand recently released a new WOW! Concealer for the under eye:
At £4.99 it is reasonable and although I haven’t used SEVENTEEN (used to be No. 17) for a long time I have no bad memories of this range (exclusive to Boots of course).
The concealer comes in two shades, Light and Medium (shame there is no Dark).
Oh first thoughts. The packaging looks and feel very decent indeed, the click mechanism is good – not like those where you have to press it 40 times to get a bit of product out (then the whole lot comes out at once).
Here is the problem. This concealer is Medium is still quite light. It also has a pink base and therefore looks somewhat ashy on my warm complexion. Here is a swatch:
You can also use this as a highlighter, which would probably be a better idea for me for areas I want intense highlighting!
The texture is a little thick and is therefore quite good at covering but not for you if you prefer a light and more liquid texture like Touch Eclat (this will feel a bit heavy and dry in comparison) but if you have oily skin, this might be your bag.
I used the product on my left side (well, my right, your left) and as you can see, it is quite ashy and unnatural in real life. Even when I use less product I can’t get over the pink in it.
Having said that, those who are Fair may enjoy this coverage and slightly matte finish concealer.
