Look – it’s like every day that a celebrity does a collaboration with a beauty company, and sometimes you wonder how beneficial these collaborations are. When I heard about this Nailed London and Rosie Fortescue collaboration I admit, I had heard the name but I had no clue that Rosie is from Made IN Chelsea. Her collaboration with the company brings a selection of 28 shades from nudes to berries to pastels. I have to say – Rosie, you have excellent taste in nail polish.
The colours that I saw were just right whether they were nudes, or the berries or the shimmery pastels. You know how nail polishes can be a bit too dark or bright or shimmery – this range just looks right and the same for the simple packaging that lets the polish speaks for itself. I am seriously impressed with this nail polish range, and polish is usually all the same to me…
So firstly this polish is supposed to give a gel look but in a regular polish. I can say that it gives a lovely glossy finish and quite frankly I think it looks as good as if not better than Gel polish, because I don’t like that chunky thick layer of polish look (and I HATE the inconvenience of it).
The range has: 28 shades, 4 glitter effect polishes, 1 base coat and 1 top coat.
I have Noodle Nude, a beauty pale greyish dove shade and Man Eater, a deep berry. Neither are shimmery.
So what I really like about these polishes is that they are super nice to apply – I have zero nail application skills and it irritates me when they polish chips fast, or when it goes thick or is hard to apply because I have so little time to do these things. This polish is nicely runny and easy to spread over the nail, and it evenly covers and gives a shiny smooth finish over my ridgey nails.
One coat looks fine, two coats is better but you can live with one.
I also like the brush which gives that nice even finish, and covers my nails in 2-3 strikes. I noticed the base and top coat have quite thick brushes which makes applying very quick.
Once set I found this polish lasted a good 5 days with no chip (a miracle) and even when I used the base and top coat with another polish by a different brand I found that lasted nicely too.
For £6.99 each, this nail polish is very reasonable and applies far better than some of the cheap polish I pick up out of boredom, and even my more expensive £15+ ones. This polish is like discovering Daniel Craig after spending a lifetime thinking that Roger Moore is the best Bond; it is so smooth it will change your (nail polish) life. I’ll definitely look out for some Christmassy colours to add to my collection.
