Since getting my last ombre, I have been trying to find easy ways (other than dye) to keep my hair brass-free. I was keen to try this very affordable range by Pro.Voke which is purple and aimed at blondes and people like moi who are trying to suppress the orange.
I’ve tried various purple shampoos over the years, they’re all fine – as this is not my regular shampoo I usually just want something that works well and is cheap – I always want something that doesn’t irritate my scalp. This range does all of that!
The shampoo is a deep violet (scary if you’ve never used it before but it works really well) and the conditioner is more of a lilac. Both work well. The pre-toning primer I totally forgot about (d’oh) which is stupid because it’s actually quite good. It can be used before shampooing to detangle and protect the hair, and can also be used as a leave in conditioner.
The Keratin shots are interesting and remind of of the Lee Stafford purple shots I used to love. These are basically intensive conditioners that you have to mix up with some water – the liquid then turns into a cream you apply and leave. It works really well but it’s a faff – certainly if I am about to jump in the shower I don’t really think to take a bowl with me so I can mix up this conditioner! So for that reason I haven’t used it much but it is a good treatment and also comes in purple and clear.
I use this range once or twice a week to keep things nicely unbrassy – it means I don’t have to add more actual toner to my hair and dry it out.
I have no complaints about this range at all – works well, reasonable prices! I used to use Bleach London purple shampoo but this is better and is cheaper.
Prices are from £3.19 – £7. Currently on
