I love a good glittery shimmery gloss and lipstick – I really do because if there’s one place you can wear it without looking like you’re doing an impression of a disco ball, it’s on your lips! I think?!
Make Up Atelier Paris’ Starshine Lip Gloss is a lesser heard of product than say, MAC Dazzleglass, but if you are feeling a bit low on your glitter factor, then this nifty gloss will keep you shimmying (yes, I’ve had about 6 coffees…)
First of, Make Up Atelier’s Starshine Lip Gloss comes in a slim-ish style plastic tube which is easy enough to transport. Have you noticed recently there are a lot of glosses around in huge tubes but then there’s only about 3ml of product???!
The packaging is simple and I quite like it. It’s very much a MUA’s brand – the focus is on the product.
These glosses are quite thick textured, in fact, it’s almost like a balm and gloss. Therefore it makes the spreadability factor slightly lower than with other ‘slicker’ or ‘oilier’ lip glosses. If you like your gloss very thin, then this might not be for you.
The colours are pretty with lots and lots of glitter suspended without any grittiness:
Oriental Rose is a pretty wearable pink with silvery sparkles. It’s very wearable.
Gold Diamond is a orangey gold with tons and tons of golden sparkle. This is less wearable but would make a fantastic party colour, or it would work well on top of many other lipsticks and stains. Despite being a gold, it has a body to it – I find some solely gold glosses (and I have many) lack depth. I think this one has enough pigment to be worn alone and not look too harsh.
Oriental Rose – the glitter is less obvious in this one but I promise you in the light it is very shimmery:
These glosses are quite unusual – I can’t think of anything too similar on the current market in terms of texture and finish (MAC Dazzleglass is a lot slicker than this).
If there is one con to this product its that I find the applicator a little hard – I’d love it if it was a softer sponge or something with a bit more wiggle so you can push it into your lips.
These pretty glosses cost £13.50 each and you can buy them
