It’s only in the last year I have really grown to appreciate the facial oil. From plain and simple oils like Coconut to the fancy oils that cost mega bucks, I’ve found them an essential addition to my night time skincare routine. And also they are great for massages and just additional hydration.
Currently I have about 7 in my skincare box (which I will blog about eventually). My favourite currently this this gorgeous one from Madara, which is an organic skincare brand on the higher end of the scale. Superseed Radiant Energy Organic Facial Oil is for boosting dull and tired skin and skin that lacks firmness.
They say: The multivitamin anti-oxidant power of Blueberry, Cloudberry, Cranberry seed oils is synergistically blended with the revitalising action of Blackberry, Black Cumin, Parsley seed oils and wrapped in the skin softening trio of Pumpkin, Borage and Golden Jojoba seed oils.
For a face oil to be worth a premium price for me, it has to be a mix of oils are are not easy to blend up yourself which is true for this oil. Also can we talk about the packaging? It comes in a gorgeous cardboard tube and the bottle itself is glass.
Little story; H2 is in love with bottles with dropper tops. He frequently steals this face oil and carries it around with him like a toy to chew. Really.
The oil itself smells delicious – I am a huge fan of aromatherapy so I really appreciate a well blending oil. When you breathe this one in it’s fruity and zingy, quite refreshing and powerful.
This is called a “dry oil” because it sinks in fast. I actually don’t like dry oils as they make my skin feel more dry after and this one did not – it definitely leaves a slightly film on the skin which I like as it makes me feel protected! You can use a few drops however in the day time and it doesn’t really affect your make up either.
Here is the oil which has a nice texture which isn’t overwhelming and sinks in fast.
The thing that I love the most about this oil is that the following day my skin really does look radiant. It’s the best face oil I have used for this purpose of looking more alive?! It works, for me at least.
It is expensive at £40 for 30ml – it’s one of the dearer ones in my collection although I’d say the average price for a good face oil is £30 anyway. Also I use only 2-3 drops a time. Madara also make a Hydration and Age Recovery face oil depending on your preference.
