I was recently sent a little pouch featuring some make up from Lord & Berry to try. Lord & Berry is a boutique Italian fashion house who created the make up line in 1992. It’s an interesting brand for me in that, it doesn’t necessarily sell it’s products via pretty packaging – the branding is very simple in fact and not really a puller for me.
And yet the products do have a make up artist feel to them – they don’t look fancy but from what I’ve tried in the past, there’s no complaints on the quality.
Here are some of the natural coloured products I was sent: Seta eyeshadow, a pearl beige. Brunette eyebrow pencil, Blush lip crayon, Nude li liner, Perfect Nude gloss.
This is of course quite a random lot of products so a way to try a few things out.
Starting with the eyeshadow Seta – this golden beige is of a beautiful soft texture and it is highly pigmented. It’s a bit too soft (see smashed image below and I only dropped it gently!). Pretty though.
The brunette eyebrow pencil is a very solid brow pencil, not too soft but quite pigmented. The Nude liner is a pigmented natural rose brown, very wearable. My favourite product of all is the blush lip crayon which actually feels hard and waxy. However it still leaves a good amount of shiny colour, and I really like the cool pink tone of this lip colour. The Perfect nude gloss is a sheer beige – not really a colour I use much these days but nevertheless if you are looking for a wearable no colour gloss, this is perfect.
I did really enjoy everything here my favourite being the lip crayon and eyeshadow. I guess the issue is that whilst these products are of excellent quality it depends if there’s anything that is a big stand out or is interesting or unusual that would make me purchase from the brand in the future…I am not sure really. I tend to go for unusual products I don’t already have in my collection but I wouldn’t rule out buying something from the range in the future.
