Le Couvent des Minimes is a French brand which is a new discovery to me; the brand is related to Melvita and L’Occitane today, the Convent has an interesting history () and today has been transformed into a Hotel & Spa. The products from the range are inspired by the love and generosity that the Missionaries of Mary showed those in need.
So rather aptly, I have the Baume D’Amour to review; the Loving Care Body Balm for Very Dry Skin. I adore the simple but vintage looking packaging;
The recipes contains Galen’s Wax (also known as cold cream), mallow and calendula extract. It’s very gentle and can be used on baby’s skin which is what attracted me in the first place – I love multi use products I can use on little H, big H and myself. And we all have pretty dry skin!
This lovely white balm is very thick and rich, it sinks in after a little while leaving a none sticky finish. It smells ABSOLUTELY DIVINE – sort of like lightly scented flowers, oranges and newborn babies. I loved smelling the kids after they had this stuff applied (every day after bath time!) they smelt lovely – like them, but even better.
It also didn’t cause any allergies, rashes or anything like that – Big H has eczema so I know instantly if something isn’t suitable for him, but this cream worked a treat (we’ve actually finished a tube already and I would definitely buy it next time).
I have a selection of lotions for the kids, and this is one of my definitely favourites because I find a lot of lotions are not moisturising enough and their skin feels dry in the morning – this one is thicker and provides longer lasting hydration which is why I like it!
This moisturiser costs £13 – which is quite good value as the tube is generous and the product is thick and lasts a good while. Can’t wait to see what else the range has to offer!
