Benefit’s newest mascara has a lot to live up to – that is the famous Bad Gal which gives rich black smoky lashes.
They’re real is a mascara that gives you that fake lash look – apparently:
This jet-black mascara lengthens, curls, volumises, lifts & separates lashes for a spectacular “out-to-here” look. The exclusive brush is specially designed to maximize the performance of the long-wearing, glossy formula-revealing lashes you never knew you had! Staggered bristles grab close to the root, boosting length & volume beyond belief. The precision bristles on the custom-domed tip lift, define & curl even your tiniest lashes. The end result…luxurious, silky lashes that won’t smudge, clump or dry out.
Sounds amazing, right?!
The packaging is cute – of course it’s cute, it’s Benefit:
The brush is a rubbery type and quite big. Let’s remember I am reviewing the mascara as a relatively short lashes Asian gal with stick straight lashes. This brush is a little too huge for my lashes but it’s no bother to use – but if it was a bit smaller I could really work it into the corners:
So I don’t know what’s wrong but this mascara didn’t quite work for me. Whilst it seemed to get between the lashes quite well to separate, I found it a bit heavy and it weighed down my curl.
It also didn’t add as much length as I’d like – it was better for the volume. I also found it smudged a little on my as the day wore on (I have quite watery eyes though). On the side it is a very black mascara.
I don’t know why it made my lashes stick together – this is a new tube after all but I struggled to make them separate after 2 coats were applied. I can see where they are going…sort of thick lashes….dense looking…but it didn’t work for me. I think this mascara is suited to those with long, naturally curly lashes already.
The pics don’t lie – I struggled with this mascara although I so wanted it to work for me. I’ll have to stick to my tough to remove Asian formulas that hold curl and add tons of length. This is best for women who already have the length and curl to begin with.
