I have heard so much about that I found it impossible to avoid hauling a few more products!
I bought 4 items from the website recently:
I decided to try one of their lip balms (they have different scents and shades), in Coconut (£10), Perfecting Skin Tint in Dark (£20), Stretch Concealer in Dark (£20) and the famous Boy Brow (£14) in Brown.
I love the whole look and feel of Glossier, it feels like a refreshing change from a lot of the heavier make up that is around. Not that there is anything wrong with super heavy or bright make up, I love some eye glitter but just that for me, I have minimal time to spend on doing my make up so something that is a easy and quick way to get a perfected version of me is a good thing.
I am going to give you a quick low down of what I thought of each of the products.
1. Coconut Balm Dotcom – squeeze tube of lip balm. You don’t get much for £10 so I wouldn’t be using anywhere else like I would wait Paw Paw balm.
Smells lovely, it’s more of a natural coconut smell, not like Malibu or your sun cream so remember that! Lovely thick texture that spreads well and isn’t too shiny, it reminds me of Kiehls lip balm essentially Remember this stuff is mainly just mineral oil, it’s not actually that fancy ingredient wise but I do love the texture. Would I buy again…maybe in another scent but it’s not a must have.
2. Perfecting Skin Tint – I bought dark and it fits well. It’s super sheer – like MAC Face and Body foundation but better than (I hate that stuff) – it blurs the skin slightly, but offers little coverage. Spots and redness are still visible after using this so you probably only want to use this if your skin doesn’t require heavy coverage. If you have good skin this will had a very natural perfected look but it is really SHEER. I needed a concealer with this for an inevitable red areas I have. With that in mind, if your skin isn’t perfect, you might spend more time than bargained spot concealing when using this.
3. Stretch Concealer – This comes in a jar and is quite thick but offers medium coverage and spreads well. I am amazed that it didn’t crease more under my eyes because it feels thick. In comparison, RMS is similar being a pot concealer for healthy glowing skin but RMS is so thick it is like TAR. This is not, this spreads well and covers pretty well too. I think I prefer my NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer more still it’s more convenient as it comes with an applicator. Still, I am not against this stuff.
4. Boy Brow – I don’t need another brow product but since there was so much raving I decided to get it in Brown. I use eyebrow mascara the most I don’t bother with pencils and powders and what not unless I have a special occasion as I already have relatively thick brows. This is a great eyebrow mascara – the brush is quite stiff and short, it dispenses a good amount of product and it seems to add pigment and density at the same time. It’s not VERY dramatic – if you want a brow mascara that really adds colour try By Terry. But I think this is a very good product overall and it isn’t crunchy at all. However, Innisfree does a product called Skinny Brow which is similar and costs £6 so I will just continue buying that in the future.
Testing the products:
Overall I have had a happy experience with Glossier. I don’t have to love everything to death, I will get use out of these and no doubt will coutinue to use them even if they aren’t my HG products.
