So time has escaped me, and before it is too late I want to mention Etude House’s Halloween 2015 offerings (yes, they even release Halloween collections!).
This year there were a selection of nail polishes, lip tints and 2 eyeshadow palettes, both very worthy. Here is my little haul:
Let’s start from left to right, and the Witch and the City nail polishes. Etude House have a huge huge huge range of all kinds of polish, it is never ending. I don’t really get on with them because in my experience, even with the best base and top coats, they rarely last on me and that turns me in to the HULK! Because when you have to steal 20 minutes to apply polish and let it dry, the last thing you want it for it to come off in your rubber gloves the next day.
Nevertheless, this collection looked so cute, I bought 2 from the collection, the second and third from the image below:
Do not be deceived by their own swatches, which generally make the polishes look a bit more vibrant than in real life.
02 – Witches Passion, a deep purple with glitter
03 – Pumpkin Soup, orange with lots of fine micro shimmer
Sorry my pictures look incredibly cool with my new lights, a little too cool.
The texture is quite runny and nice to apply, and 2 coats is enough for an even finish which borders on semi-matte. Again the colours don’t look half as good in real life as they do in the promotional pictures! They are just not as vibrant or interesting to wear, but nevertheless, they are ok and lasted 2 days before a chip appeared (using Orly Bonder base coat and Seche Vite top coat).
The Dear Darling Tint is a staple in the Etude House collection, it has been around forever and I bought the Halloween release, Witch Way, a sheer red. Nothing excting to report about it, although as far as sheer tints go, they are good and don’t look too patchy.
The Fantastic Color Eyes palette came in a cooler pink-grey type combination which I wasn’t interested. For me it was all about the orange and golds! Hello Pumpqueen seemed to be sold out for a while.
I like how they give little names to each colour!
The first shodden the left is a cream colour, a rich brown which isn’t that pigmented and I would use this as a primer base, not as a standalone shade as it creases.
Swatches of the palette and lip tint – I don’t know why they don’t do from light to dark !
Orange and golds are right up my street so I enjoyed wearing this palette -I like how they provide mixed textures too. Pigmentation is good (and I don’t think eyeshadow is Etude House’s strong point usually). If there is any criticism of the palette, it would be that it is very warm and not for people who dislike the extremely orange-gold-bronze type colours.
The lip tint:
Verdict: I don’t love the polishes, the lip tint is what it is, the eyeshadow palette is cute and has a nice choice of shades that I would use quite a lot (I love the handy travel size) although I wouldn’t say it’s perfect for everything due to it’s like of any cool colours.
I purchased these items from eBay (still available now).
