I am late to the party but I jut got my first set of Essie Gel Couture polishes, and I think they look pretty cool. I love the twisted bottle design.
I have 5 colours from the collection and their Platinum Grade Finish top coat. I believe that they have released a collection of 12 shades in the US.
So the Gel Couture polishes are supposed to give you a gel like finish (high gloss finish) and up to 14 days of wear. You can use whatever base coat you have but they recommend their own top coat for the best glossy finish. This is all good for me – I don’t have a ton of time to do my nails never mind visit a salon (although the cost puts me off too when I can just of it at home). I also remove all my polish as soon as it chips so something that lasts up t 14 days is good for me.
Sizzling Hot – Hibiscus Red with Pink Undertone (Creme)
Style Stunner – Orange Red (Creme)
v.i.please – Deep berry violet (Creme)
Front Page Worthy – Royal Blue (Pearl)
Inside Scoop – Sheer tea rose with blue undertone (Sheer)
I suppose the boldest colour of these is Front Page Worthy – a metallic pearly blue which I think would be nice once it comes to autumn. The shades I would wear the most are Sizzling Home which is almost a coral looking bold red and v.i.please which is a deep berry but has a edgy fun purple edge to it.
The top coat comes in the opaque white bottle and I like it – it adds a super glossy finish which I love and when done properly with my base coat (I used Sally Hansen) I got a full Newark of wear with no chip which is a miracle for me as I do a lot with my hands and the kids.
My Essie nail collection is growing and I love that!
