Ciate is primarily a make up company but they do make some seriously lovely make up – sometimes when beauty brands that don’t normally make makeup start doing so, the result is naff. The Ciate stuff I have tried is not naff, it really is very decent and well packaged stuff.
Ciate’s collaboration with Olivia Palermo is particularly gorgeous – I have the 4 lipsticks here to show you.
Exterior packaging – the lipsticks are in really pretty boxes with a textured feel. It looks and feels expensive. All of the lipsticks are pigmented and are a satin finish which is comfortable to wear and lasts well.
The lipsticks come in shiny gold which looks nice, although it’s not as heavy as I’d expected (I like a sturdy heavy lipstick!).
The four colours are extremely pretty, and wearable – 3 natural shades and one deep red. It is a really yummy looking collection although from a money making perspective I think the first 3 shades are pretty similar! If purchasing I would only get one, whereas if there was more variation in the shades I may purchase more – know what I mean?
The shades as above are: Truffle, Cashmere, Praline and Velveteen. The colours are pigmented and smooth, once again wearable and not drying at all.
Stupidly I watched them in a different order which is (from left to right):
Cashmere: A light beige like nude, very flat classic beige. Cooler IRL than in the swatch.
Truffle: Soft pink
Praline: Nutty brown
Velveteen: Rich deep red
Cashmere – on my is very nude, not my kind of shade any more but nice if you are fair and want a super nude lip.
Truffle – wearable soft pink:
Praline – my favourite, a medium brown, wearable but pigmented:
Velveteen – a really nice almost matte like finish deep deep berry red:
I love Velveteen and Praline the most – if I were purchasing they were the two I would buy.
The lipstick cost £19 each and you can buy them
