Korean brands are seriously in the lead when it comes to creating cute packaging and totally random ideas for beauty. I am always suckered in by a new product, unusual concepts and cute packaging. I am actually not a huge fan of lip stains but I couldn’t resist buying this cute product from Labiotte, one of the lesser known Korean beauty brands because it looks like…a bottle of wine!
The colours are more in the red and berry based family with one neutral which is what I purchased. I also snagged a free sample of the red for fun, I am not really a red lip wearer though.
Lip stains are so huge in Korea. I guess it’s because you can wear them sheer, they last forever, they are thin and weightless. I personally find them quite drying and once they start to wear off they settle in to lines which is why I am not a huge fan. BUT if I were to buy one, I would go for a Korean brand over Western brand alternatives any time because they have really worked on that kind of formula, you know?
The packaging is adorable although I am not a wine drinker! I love the attention to detail:
I gor CR01 which is the most natural colour – a orange coral shade. My small bottle is RD01 Shiraz Red which is the true red colour.
Both of these come with a sponge applicator which is fine. They are VERY pigmented (the coral is as pigmented as a natural colour can be). There red is a vibrant, true red.
The formal is like a liquid and it’s quite runny. Have to be careful with the stronger colours to keep in the edges as it is so watery.
Once these dry up they leave a slight shine on the lips and stain them too. The red is VERY staining, like I could not get the damn stuff off after swatching so I ended up going to Tesco looking a little bit too made up! But if you want it to last, then here you go, you found your perfect lip swatch.
Also there is a nice scent – like grape or berries – and I hate scented face make up but I am quite fond of this.
Coral – highly wearable, a bit boring I guess:
Sorry about my resting bitch face here with the red. You get the idea – it is very pigmented and bright. If I were to wear red I would pick this any day over a creamy red lipstick as I know it won’t run all over my face:
I paid around £10 for both colours from eBay. It’s a limited shade choice but a bit of fun, so why not? WHY NOT I ASK, WHY NOT.
What do you think, too gimmicky? Or cute?
