The sun has got it’s hat on! Hip hip hip hooray!
The sun is out in the UK which means lots of people walking around with no tops on, people sitting around in in appropriate places and lots of drunk people EVERYWHERE. But still. Brightness! Warm weather!
So if you have babies it is imperative that you get them slathered in sun cream! My kids hate having cream applied, it’s like this thing they have to give me grief about even though I do it several times a day. So when looking for sun cream I need something none stingy that I can apply once and is enough. Superdrug now has a pretty extensive sun protection range just for babies! The other thing is sun cream is not the cheapest thing so, it’s great that there are more affordable options now.
Here are some of the options from the Superdrug Solait Kids range.
1. Solait Kids Trigger Spray SPF50 (£4.99)
This is a trigger sunscreen which I like in theory (it’s the one i put in H’s nursery bag) and you can do large areas quick with it. I like the light runny texture of the cream. My kids hate having cream applied and spray them with one usually makes them angry but still, I spray it on to my hand then apply.
2. Kids Lotion SPF50 (£4.49)
Traditionalists can buy this sun cream in a tube (again, a nice high protection factor). This is thicker than the trigger bottle, which is good for kids with drier skin.
3. Solait Kids Roll On (£2.99)
This is the most unusual applicator but it’s quite cool because it’s compact and can be carried around (you never know when the sun will appear!) and is quite easy to apply. Use like a deodorant roll on – it’s a medium textures sun screen and it comes out easily enough. You can’t get every area with a roll on though (you’re not going to roll this over your nose) but you can get some products out then rub it in.
4. Baby Baby Lotion (£3.49 – for 100ml)
This one is suitable for little babies and their sensitive skin. A rich cream texture, very none irritating even on H2’s chicken pox!
I also have to give a shout out to the Solait Kids Pouch SPF50 which basically looks like a food pouch so it’s super duper compact (£1.99). I have it in my handbag for emergencies and it barely takes up any room.

Also a shout of for the Superdrug kids washes; 3 in 1 conditioning Shampoo and Head to Toe Wash currently just 99p each!!
Both of these contain SLS and I don’t use that on the kids to be totally honest. However, I have been using them on myself (mainly because I had run out of shampoo and shower gel) and they work a treat! They’re not irritating and smell very fruity.
So there you go, some cool discoveries at Superdrug.
