Without even realising, when I like something I accumulate more of it…so when I tidied up my every day make up bag today I realised I had a ton of peachy orange coral lip colours – my current crush.
Orangey peach is a really brightening colour on my olive skin tone, it looks fresh without being too garish or bright and is more interesting than pink. I like peach on my cheeks and copper on my eyes so it also compliments that!
Here are the products I had in my make up bag:
Sulley is helping out there propping up the lip gloss!
The lipsticks and my thoughts:
1. Lola Cosmetics – 105 Minx* (£12 )
What a surprise – this lipstick turned out to be a real gem. Creamy texture, intensely pigmented, and long lasting. It has a gorgeous semi matte finish that doesn’t look too dry. Almost mousse like in texture. Errs on the pink side for those who don’t like all out orange.
2. Illamasqua Lipstick – Brink (£18.50 )
Described as a warm peachy pink I found this lipstick very ORANGE rather than pinky. Very disappointing texture in my opinion for the price (which I found steep for Illamasqua – I felt their price point should be around the same as MAC, about £15).
Unlike the Lola lipstick, this has poor slip and is hard to drag across the lips. It looks horribly dry and unsexy, and sinks into fine lines. Granted, I have dry lips but the other mattes in this selection do much better than this.
As the Mamonde Crayon is similar and costs only £6 from eBay, it has a superior texture so I would just go for that if you want a orange-peach.
3. 3CE Matte Lipstick – 705 Sugary Cake (I paid £15
A good mix between peach and pink. Not as pigmented as Lola but better than the Illamasqua. A bit dry to spread across the lips but not impossible. I hate the heavy boxy packaging when the lipstick itself isn’t so big, it just makes it clunky to carry around.
4. MAC Lipstick – Sandy B (£15.50 )
This is what I call a fun purchase – it’s really really pearly – it is so 80s and naff in some respects but I like the beach bum quality of this sunny shade. I also like it layered over the other colours and to its credit it has a beautiful smooth texture and shine.
5. Mamonde Intense Balm Lip Crayon – 20 Peach (I paid around £6)
Mamonde (a Korean brand) have a really nice selection of lip crayons – from mattes to shines, brights and neutrals. This orange doesn’t look like its going to be pigmented but it is quite and leaves a nice soft sheen to the lips.
6. Cosmetics a la Carte Cream Blush – Coral* (£25)
Not a lip colour but can be used on the lips if you don’t mind a slightly powdery finish. This colour compliments the lip selection here well and brightens up the face. I like it’s creamy soft texture on the cheeks and intense pigmentation.
7. Jill Stuart Lip Gloss – 31 Weekend Stroll (I paid around £14)
Jill Stuart make up always feels like such a treat. This pearl/glitter free soft peach is pretty and works well layered over any of these lip colours given a sexy shine and sheen. Lasts relatively well for a gloss too.

Swatches:
My favourites are the Lola, Sandy B and gloss on top. To layer, Lola with the Jo Malone Gloss is super pretty, and the Mamonde crayon with Sandy B on top gives a summer beachy lip.
Will I be buying any more peachy orange lip colours? Better not…until…something else takes my fancy….
What lip colour are you currently crazy for?
