Some good things come in small packages don’t you know!? Mii’s new brow product, the Sculpting Brow Builder is one of those things.
A quick brow breakdown for you; I have naturally full eyebrows and quite a lot of hair. Because of this I am quite lazy with them apart from keeping them neat via tweezing or when they are very messy, threading. However, they do benefit from some basic grooming – I like to make sure they are free of make up if I have time, and lightly defined otherwise they are a bit too dramatic for me.
Brow mascara is a favourite product for me as it’s so quick and easy to use and I don’t need to spend lots of time filling mine in. One of my favourites is by ByTerry Eyebrow Mascara – I don’t think I ever got round to reviewing it but it’s super pigmented for a brow mascara and never flaked off.
However I don’t fancy paying £26 for an eyebrow mascara, so I haven’t bought a replacement. But now I have this product!
The Sculpting Brow Builder (£14.95) is a creamy conditioning colour that contains tiny fibres that add volume and tint the brows. You can use it on your hairs or just outside the lines to add some volume.
It comes in 3 shades, Light, Medium and Dark, I have medium which is a natural brown, not too warm or cool. The first thing I noticed was the stiff and small brush – perfect for coming through hairs in my opinion as I find regular mascara brushes deposit too much product (these are brows not lashes, remember!).
Now I knew this would go two ways – mega brows or nothing brows. Some brow gels don’t do anything and some are highly pigmented. Well this is somewhere in the middle. As I combed them through, I could see them gently defining my brows, getting rid of any powdery-ness that is there, they subtly added some volume and just left them looking nicely define. Natural but defined. My perfect type of brow!
The brow on the left has product in it, the one of the right does not. You can see it has been improved but not in a overly dramatic way which I personally like.
I am really happy with this product, it’s effortless and takes a minute to do but adds a more polished look. It also doesn’t flake or smudge, it keeps the hairs in place without being crunchy – I hate a crunchy brow gel/mascara, I really do.
You may not like this if you want a super dramatic eyebrow with one product alone.
