I am officially obsessed with foundation. I can’t help it. I love a good base.
Up for review is this Boots No. 7 Lift & Luminate Foundation – Boots No. 7 has release a skincare range called Lift & Luminate (which I have started testing and like a lot) and this foundation is part of the set!
This is a lifting and firming foundation with a natural glow.
Skin looks and feels instantly lifted, minimising pores and imperfections. Plus, it contains SPF 15 to protect your skin from the damaging effects of the sun.
The Lift & Luminate range is actually aimed at the older lady (aged 40+) but there’s no harm in prevention, eh?
Another foundation I have been testing out is Bourjois Sleep Effect Foundation (review coming up) and this product reminds me of it, in terms of the ‘wake up’ effect.
The texture is very different though. Lift & Luminate Foundation has a thicker texture:
Note that there are 6 shades to choose from. Boots have always been quite consistent with their shades…I’ve noticed with their other base products that they all share the same names – so you can pretty much guess which shade you are in all their foundations, concealers etc.
I got blonde – I am between a blonde and almond (I am a NC35 in MAC). Almond is ever so slightly dark. Blonde is more natural but ever so slightly light.
I choose blonde as its a fresher look.
Worked into the skin, it looks a little oily, but quickly settles down into quite an even, glowy finish. Not at all greasy.
On the face:
I really like this foundation! Its similar to Bourjois Sleep Effect foundation but it has a better texture for my skin – its creamy so its good for my dry skin and has better coverage.
I think my skin felt quite smooth afterwards. I’d say this powder benefits from a light powder to set things because it is a glowy base and can slide off during the day.
I would recommend this base – for £15 (apparently no longer expensive for a drugstore level foundation) you get a treatment and a medium coverage foundation that does everything you need.
If you have very oily skin, this may be a little rich for you.
You can buy it and from Boots stores!
